Laredo Animal Groups Host Pet Adoption Event and Themed Photos

Laredo, TX, October 8, 2026 —

Laredo animal welfare organizations are joining forces this weekend to host a pet adoption event designed to connect local animals with prospective families. The initiative, spearheaded by LAPS (Laredo Animal Protective Services) and BFFL (Barks From Friends & Family), will take place this Saturday at two Petco store locations within the city: one on San Bernardo and another in North Laredo.

The event aims to provide a platform for adoptable pets to meet the public in a accessible retail environment. Organizers hope the event will result in numerous successful adoptions, offering permanent homes to animals in need. Specific details regarding the types or number of animals available for adoption were not provided in the summary.

In addition to the adoption drive, the participating Petco stores will also offer Halloween-themed photo opportunities for pets. These special photo sessions are scheduled to begin this Saturday at the Petco North location. For the subsequent two weekends following Saturday’s main event, these Halloween-themed photos will be available at both the San Bernardo and North Laredo Petco branches. This offers pet owners a chance to capture festive memories with their animal companions.

Further information about specific hours for the adoption event or the photo sessions was not detailed in the provided summary. Both LAPS and BFFL are known within the Laredo community for their ongoing efforts in animal rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming.
